About Ally
I first discovered yoga in late 1999 while pregnant with my first child. What started as a way to improve strength and maintain flexibility soon evolved as a way to manage the demands and stress of a busy job.
As a senior corporate executive in the wealth management industry, yoga helped me balance a busy career while raising two kids and navigating the inevitable challenges of constant life changes. Yoga became a really important part of my life. By the time I had my second child I was totally hooked.
Yoga became a critical component for my health and wellbeing when I started to experience strange symptoms in 2015, went through medical processes of elimination, and finally was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
Another health challenge arrived in 2021 when I experienced a lower back injury, which developed into sciatica and resulted in micro-discectomy surgery.
Finding ways to manage MS symptoms and maintain back health is just one aspect of my yoga story. Yoga is more than just maintaining a healthy body. It’s about balance - for the mind, for the nervous system, for self-care. And it’s about moving through the world in a way that is aligned both on and off the yoga mat.
I am grateful for the ancient wisdom of yoga, for my teachers and for the opportunities to learn more about how yoga can benefit every one of us.

Yoga on and off the mat
I’ve been practising yoga for over 25 years and became a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Australia in 2021.
I believe that yoga not only helps us physically - by connecting with our bodies and relaxing our busy brains - it also builds resilience while opening our hearts. It can truly guide us to find clarity of purpose, peace and surrender.
And if we’re lucky, a deeper knowing that this too shall pass, and all will be well.
My motto with yoga is ‘Through the body, into the Self’. Join me as we explore all the ways yoga can lead us to a deeper connection with our true Self - our open, spacious, and conscious awareness.
