About Ally
I first discovered yoga in 1999 while pregnant with my first child. What started as a way to improve strength and maintain flexibility soon became an important part of my life. By the time I had my second child I was totally hooked.
As a senior corporate executive in the wealth management industry, yoga helped me balance a busy career while raising two kids and navigating the inevitable challenges of constant life changes.
One of the biggest curve balls was being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2015 (oof!). Managing my MS symptoms and trying to avoid further relapses meant that yoga became an essential. It lead me to make lifestyle changes, such as changing my diet, and eventually unwinding from the stresses that came from the corporate grind.
Another health challenge arrived in 2021 when I experienced a lower back injury and had to deal with sciatica, resulting in micro-discectomy surgery.
Finding ways to improve and maintain back health became a passion. I never thought I would become an anatomy geek, but here we are!
There’s still so much more to learn and discover with my yoga practice and my teaching efforts, but I can honestly say - in this moment, here and now - I feel healthier and more content than ever before. I’m grateful for yoga and the guidance of my many teachers as I’ve navigated life’s ups and downs.

Yoga on and off the mat
I’ve been practising yoga for 25 years and became a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Australia in 2021.
I believe that yoga not only helps us physically - by connecting with our bodies and relaxing our busy brains - it also builds resilience while opening our hearts. It truly can guide us to find clarity of purpose, peace and surrender.
And if we’re lucky, a deeper knowing that this too shall pass, and all will be well.
My motto with yoga is ‘Through the body, into the Self’. Join me as we explore all the ways that yoga can lead us to a greater connection with our true Self - open, spacious, conscious awareness.
